The Men's Section of Canterbury Hockey Club

Canterbury Men field 10 teams throughout the season. We have Men’s 1s playing in the second tier of hockey in this country; Division One South; with the other nine teams in the South East League from the premier division all the way down to division 9.

We have something for everyone offering competitive, social and inclusive hockey played at a level to suit all abilities and age groups. The men also field Masters teams at Over 35, Over 45 and Over 55.

If you are new to hockey or played some time ago at school or University and fancy getting back into it then we will be offering free “Back to Hockey” Sessions later this summer, starting on Wednesday August 1st from 6.30-8.00pm on the middle pitch. Sessions finish on Wednesday 11 September.

Men’s Training Timetable 2024-2025

All of our training/coaching sessions take place at Polo Farm on our excellent astro pitches. The schedule is reproduced below and you will find them all on Teamo. Please do register your attendance on Teamo as appropriate so your coach has a good idea of how many players are coming along and can plan his sessions accordingly.

1st XI Tuesday Water 2 Thursday Water 1 7.30pm to 9.30pm

2nd XI / invited Pilgrims players Thursday Water 2 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Pilgrims, M4, M5, Millers, M7 Wednesday Water 1 7.30pm to 9.00pm

M7, Squires, Friars, M10 Wednesday Water 1 6pm to 7.30pm

Membership Costs

Canterbury Men’s Hockey Club membership for the 2024-25 season is now open.

Subscriptions

Aged 21 and over £180
Under 21 £110
Full time students £40

Juniors can play adult hockey and their fees can be found in the junior section of this website.

Match Fees (per match)

Aged 21 and over -- £15

under 21/students and Juniors -- £6.

Our annual subscriptions include access to all training / coaching sessions which are dependent on your team but held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and run throughout the season from the first week of September to early-April.
Subscriptions are normally required in one payment by mid-October however if a member is facing financial difficulties the club treasurer is available to discuss this on a confidential basis.
The first session a new player attends is a free trial.
