The sun was out and a chill to the air with Canterbury ladies 4s against Blackheath & Elthamians 3 They were strong. We were stronger. An awesome match with a well deserved 4-1 win.

Having too many defenders this week worked in our favour, pushing Jo and Gabs into the mid they could smell the goals and their excitement and hunger for goals was swiftly rewarded. A competitive match, with plenty of “interesting” tackles from the opposition, Canterbury held strong and continued to attack with the first goal from the top right of the D smashed straight into the left corner of the net. Swiftly followed was a break by B&E making it 1-1. Not deterred and a strong attack down the left from Kate with Gabs getting the deflection and see the ball in with a swift push.

Finishing 2-1 and after the now ritual haribo half time (not sure about the mini eggs) Canterbury continued with an attacking streak throughout. Vicky, Maddie and Phoebe had already played but that didn’t stop them giving it everything. There was some beautiful play all round. A real team effort, Chloe took on several players at once, Ellie held the back, Annabel intercepted well and Kate was on fire. Strong running from Chloe and hungry defending from Maddie meant Canterbury continued to hold strong. To seal the deal Gabs and Jo followed up with another Goal each. Aware the “jug” purchase of a hatrick was on the horizon… the whistle blew!

MOM : Jo & Gabs for proving defenders can play midfield and be goal scorers too.
DOD : Fiona for skirt on backwards and trying to stop the opposition scoring with her leg.

Awesome result. Whoop whoop whoop.
