Ladies 1st XI vs Sevenoaks (Home) | 12 Feb 22

Lost 0-3

After a good win on the road Canterbury were looking to keep their winning streak going, and the form guide green, with a local derby game against Sevenoaks.

Starting slowly we were 1-0 down, after seven minutes, following a short corner rebound. We did not really get into our stride and at quarter-time we had a few home truths. We got back into the game but, unfortunately, a cracking reverse strike from Chloe Plumb was disallowed in the second quarter and a short while later we conceded a second short corner.

Going into half time we needed some wise words and motivation and came out hoping to get back in the game, regrettably, this was not to be and Sevenoaks went on to score a third goal from a short corner which was initially saved but somehow managed to trickle back across the goal line.

All in all it was a lacklustre performance today leading to a disappointing result. Some key areas to work on this week and we will be back stronger next week with a home game against Reading Ladies at 2pm.
