Men’s Millers vs Tunbridge Wells 3s (Home) | 22 Jan 22

Lost 1-3

Scorers: Ollie Neal

MoM: Ollie Curtis

The Millers faced a tough game against T Wells, a team they’d lost to in their previous encounter. Inspiring words from the skipper, we went into the game buoyant. However this lasted all of 2 minutes as we gave away a short corner which T Wells converted via a miss-injection, miss-hit and a helping hand from the postman to deliver it from outside the goal to our bottom corner.

We then started to play a bit more of our hockey, dominating with pressure eventually paying off winning a p-flick that was duly converted. Continuous pressure from the Millers but it was T Wells who scored next, a deflection by our secondary defensive line, taking it over the heads of our the remaining defence to a thankful forward who finished well to give T Wells a 2-1 lead into the half.

The second half was one of exquisite play but lacking the final touch the Millers needed to pull the game level. Constant pressure and several balls going past the back post brought no outcome and T Wells broke in the final minute to put the game to bed.

While the result did not go our way we played some high quality hockey. Particularly the silky skills and link up play of our junior duo down the left hand side of Ollie Curtis and Freddie McMullan. The results will go our way eventually…!
