A return to league action after the Christmas break saw the 5s take on a top of the table Sevenoaks 3s at home. The team made a positive start and were on the front foot in the early stages of the game. However; the visitors scored 2 quick goals and we were ‘hanging on’ for the rest of the half, the Christmas break had not been kind to us.

Half time saw some strong words from Forber who made some clear and straight forward points, it proved a turning point in the game as we came out and played far more positive and aggressive hockey. It was rewarded almost immediately with a well taken goal from a short corner by Richard Sabin, it was followed shortly by another goal again from a PC by the same scorer. 2-2 with around a quarter of the match to go.

Neither side could carve out any clear cut opportunities despite Sevenoaks having a series of corners. Credit to the opposition as they were a tough side and certainly made life difficult for us, particularly in the 1st half, however; we can take a lot of positives from the game an excellent comeback sparked by a more proactive attitude. Overall a good start to the 2nd part of the league season.
