Match report Canterbury ladies 4s 1 v Tunbridge Wells 2s 0

Super team! Super game! Super weather and super umpires!

Despite the week spent getting a team together and hours deciding how we would get there, Canterbury finally arrived at Tunbridge Wells on a glorious sunny day ready to play.

It was an even match with Kendra the GK put under pressure (mostly by Sibs!) and was required to make a few key saves in the first half.
However, second half saw a much more dominant performance from Canterbury, with the ball being spread wide allowing more attacks down the flanks, with fluid linking play.

It remained 0.0 until less than 15 minutes to go when Iona took a quick free hit outside the circle dribbled in and slipped the ball to Jess who deftly put it away. Kendra was not troubled at all in the second half. Everybody played well, making man of the match difficult to award for good reasons!

Votes for Lorna, Gabs, Jess, Iona. MOM Awarded to Iona for making the goal with special mention to Jess for putting it away.

Encouraging team performance, thanks to the folks who helped us out this week, and to everyone for the wholehearted and tireless running which definitely brought about the win.

DOD: a few contenders, Alex for knocking someone over telepathically and breaking her ankle, Emily for being late and getting carded, but Lizzie wins it for arriving with blood trickling down from a cut eye having hit herself in the face with her own face mask!

Luckily, she is qualified to steristrip herself!

Well done, girls! Whoop, whoop! Onwards and upwards!
