Scorers: John Aikin
MoM: None justified
A game of two halves. A statement of the obvious but this really was in more cases than one!
A first half of promise and reasonable skill and a nice goal from John Aikin with some good moves and intelligent passing, astute defence and good goal keeping. Did this bode well…..?
Several jaffa cakes at half time put a different perspective on the matter and unfortunately the optimism gave way to a second half of total contrast, with jaffa cakes shipped matching goals conceded along with some poor play.
Within 5 minutes The Friars had lost their lead with short corners needlessly conceded, poor passing and just general poor hockey. That first half lead never looked liked being regained and so it proved as 2 more late goals were conceded to a Gravesham team that admittedly played a lot better in the second than the first half. Oh well ..c’est la vie!
So ……. that looks about it ……… until we meet again …….don’t know where, don’t know when …… as hockey sadly shuts down like most other sports. KEEP FIT FRIARS and enjoy the Home Brew.
