4th XI vs Old Williamsonians 2s (Away) | 24 Oct 20

Lost 7-2

Scorers: Craig Chorleton, Ben Lawford

MoM: Ben Lawford

DoD: High Thompson

A tough away day for the 4s, which ultimately finished in a result that didn’t reflect the performance and effort put in by the side. Canterbury found themselves under the cosh for prolonged periods in both halves, although a lot of the time the OW strikers found themselves frustrated by the lack of shooting chances as well as the ever impressive Eddie Rowney. Canterbury often saw their best chances coming from the middle, with Roley and Ben doing very well to control the tempo of the attacks when possession was had, constantly looking to release Ali SK or Craig. Going in 2-1 down at half time, the reduced Canterbury side from the previous weekend against Sevenoaks had the belief it could be their day. Unfortunately OW got some lucky breaks and which saw them race to 5-2. Ben’s wonder goal brought some home back for the last 10, but the desire to pull off a miracle left a major gap for counter attacks which OW exploited twice more. An unfortunate result but we move on and make up for it in the derby vs ashford this weekend.

Squad: Eddie Rowney, James Panayides, Alfie Tedder, Cameron Brown, Hugh Thompson, Henry McCully, James Rollins, Charlie Entwistle, Simon Downes, Ben Lawford, Craig Chorleton, Ali Scott Kilvert
