Canterbury 3s resurrected their season against Holcome after a hard fought victory at Polo Farm. After two weeks of very poor starts, we managed to play the first ten minutes error free. The team were more connected on the pitch and this led to the first goal (converted by Matt Lee) after a patient build up from defence in the twentieth minute. This goal outlines what the team is capable of when playing as a unit. The second goal (an early contender for our goal of the season) was scored by Chris Podd on the brink of half time. The ball was played to Nathan on the left sideline around the halfway line when he played a cross pitch pass to find Callum sprinting from his own D in open space who then quickly paced the ball across the keeper for Chris to finish off at full stretch. The second half was very patient and well worked, with the team making it hard for Holcome to convert. Despite conceding a scrappy goal with 5 minutes to go, the game was closed out comfortably.
