Scorers: Chris Podd, Matt Lea x2
For the second week in succession Canterbury 3s earnt a point, against a well trained BBHC first team. BBHC equipped with a manager, coach and a squad of 16 spent the entire 70 minutes playing a half-court press which after a slow start the 3s mitigated well.
Canterbury were 2-0 down in the first half before winning a short corner which Matt Lea drag-ficked to the back post for Poddy to deflect into the roof of the net.
Canterbury’s equaliser came shortly after half-time. Nathan, Max and Chris Ellis penetrated well down the wings utilising the wide areas as BBHC compressed the middle. Another Matt Lea short-corner well blocked, which rebounded kindly for Matt to flick over the keeper.
Canterbury pushed on seeking a winner, however were caught out by a BBHC counter-attack, winning and converting a short-corner to go 3-2 ahead.
The 3’s showed good mentality and determination to not let their heads drop and won another short-corner which again was well-blocked, rebounded to Matt Lea to fire past the keeper defender on the line.
Honours even, on to Folkestone 1s at polo; a game fitting for the show pitch.
