Drew 2 – 2
Scorers: Ollie Curtis x 2
A tough encounter with a well organised side who played with determination, bravery and a man short!
Despite having most of the possession we struggled with the final ball or speed of thought to make the extra man count. With a handful of breaks into the opposition D it was they who scored from their first short corner. With a sense of injustice for the dominant play it was not long before Ollie got on the end of some untidy play and somehow scooped the ball into the net. A 1 – 1 it really should have been us that took control to go on and stretch away; however another short corner routine left the left hand post unattended and they scored their second.
With the constant shuffling of players no real flow was found and only by belief and a sense of determination did we create any chances. However with much chasing back by the determined midfield of Max, Rich, Jimmy and James left us short of creative ideas and opportunities to score. It was Ollie who again got on the end of a rushed defence by the opposition and with lightning reaction and a keen eye managed to swot the ball back across goal, the oncoming keeper and into the goal.
The defence of James, Graeme, William and Jo were kept far too busy in the final 10 minutes than should have been the case but kept the London side out and a draw was a ‘reasonable’ result.
