Won 6-4

Scorers: Matt Lea x2 Chris Ashenden x2 Morten Pederson Shane Godwin

MoM: Chris Ellis

Canterbury welcomed 2nd place Cliftonville to Polo for a top.of the table clash.
Complete with a full 1st team squad and coach Cliftonville came out of the blocks quickly and took a 1-0 lead early on. This fortunately kicked Canterbury in to life and it wasn’t long before Chris Ashenden found some space in the D and then the backboard for 1 – 1. A flowing move was then finished by Matt Lea and then then added another from a great through ball from Hammo. Cliftonville then got one back to make it 3-2 at half time.
Canterbury stuck to their brand of hockey and it wasn’t long before Morts had converted a moved PC and Chris Ashenden had got his 2nd to make it 5-2. A missed placed stick from Sabo and a theatrical fall from the Cliftonville forward offered a life line as a PF was awarded and then converted for 5-3. Shane Godwin was on hand to convert another flowing move for 6-3 before Cliftonville claimed a late (possibly kicked) late consolation goal and the game ended 6-4. 8pts clear and on to Holcs next week (hopefully with our lucky mascot in tow…)
