The 4s travelled to Herne Bay for a local derby, meeting at 11:30 with the sun still low. Immediately after push back Andy had the ball changed from white to orange because he was blinded by the sun. An early diving deflection from Glenn took us to 1-0. For the rest of the half we couldn’t pass further than 5 yards, due to this we lost the ball a lot giving herne bay the majority of attacks. Nothing resulted from this until they were rewarded a dodgy short corner which they scored with a straight hit. The score at the break was 1-1 despite knowing we can play better than them.

Not long into the second half, Ali S-K left there left back on the floor which could due to some silky skills or maybe the slippy pitch. This then resulted in a green card to Ali despite being punched. Not long after Westy put it through the keepers legs with a deflection with an assist from Ali. Glenn scored his second deflection after a crash ball from Forba. The defence were worked hard when all decisions went their way. Tom Wacher had a stern talking to after some bad language the umpire heard. We finished the game well with a short corner where Glenn missed the ball for a shot at an open goal to avoid his hattrick, luckily Westy was stood behind him to finish it.

It was a well worked 4-1 win, which was all worth it when we had chilli con carne for match tea.
