3rd XI vs T’Wells (Away) | 09 Nov 19

Won 5 – 2

Scorers: Chris Podd x2 Alan Carter x1 Chris Figgis x1 Rich Sabin x1

MoM: Chris Figgis

Canterbury 3s travelled in the rain to Tunbridge Wells with a bare 11 hoping to continue their winning streak. Things weren’t looking great as we lined up against a squad of 15 including former Canterbury 1st team forward Ben Alberry and even less so when he flicked them in front from their 1sr PC.
Canterbury dug in though and Rich Sabin scored from close range to level the score and a PC. Canterbury then scored 2 really quick goals, firstly from Chris Podd and then Chris Figgis with his 1t of the season. Andy Howard then made a great diving save from a Ben Alberry PC to leave T’Wells a little shell shocked. We were all then shell shocked when Alan Carter then also opened his account with he 1st goal (possibly ever) with a well taken backhand in to the roof of the net for 4-1 at half time. Canterbury then despite only have 11 controlled the pace of the game and despite Ben Alberry flicking another PC goal for T’Wells, Chris Podd got his 2nd and the 3pts were safe!
