2nd XI vs Sevenoaks (Away) | 19 Oct 19

Lost 4-2

Scorers: Ben Young and Rich Keir

MoM: Ben Young

DoD: Zak Williams

The weather had seemed to bless the 2nd XI as they travelled to Sevenoaks, with positive intentions. After chats about winging teaching courses and quizzing Brad to see if he had got into anymore trouble, the 2nd XI we’re ready to start.

The start of the first half seemed very much to be in Canterbury’s favour. With some delightful runs and passing through the whole team produced, what was a spectacular finish from number one striker Ben Young. As we pursued on creating chances from the back, with searching passes from the skipper and darting runs from Josh Izzard and Charlie Lloyd Hughes, another goal was created as the ball is rolled into the path of Rich Keir, which then ended up in the roof of the net. 2-0 Canterbury.
With Sevenoaks realising the score, the pressure from the opposition increased and after winning a short corner, resulting in a goal and then followed by a fumble in the D, they ended the half 2-2.
With Canterbury’s charismatic midfield producing some beautiful hockey, from none other than the Keir brothers and Tom Richford (too good looking) Sevenoaks turned up a gear and made the second half their own.
Unfortunately for Canterbury the game ended 4-2 to Sevenoaks. But be assured, Canterbury are determined to get back to winning ways with next weeks game.
